It is important to us that children can feel at home at het Stoerwoud. Therefor safety and security are essential conditions. To create security and a loving, familiar environment, we work with a fixed and committed team of pedagogical staff. A clear and recognisable structure also creates a safe environment in which the children can relax, play together and make their first friends.

Growing up naturally
Fresh air, outdoor play and nature have a positive effect on children’s health and well-being. Our unique spacious nature gardens, also offers children who grow up in the city the opportunity to uninhibitedly discover nature and develop their senses, motor skills, social skills and creativity.
We believe it is important that sustainability and awareness for our environment are a natural part of life. This is how we care for children now and in the future.

Personal attention for child and parent
At the Stoerwoud, each child is given the space to develop in their own unique way. Achieving this requires attention to individual wishes and needs of the children -and their parents-. At the Stoerwoud, we therefore like to invest in a good basis of trust by building a warm relationship with parent and child. After all, parenting is something we do together.
What does the Stoerwoud have to offer
Childcare center het Stoerwoud consists of three locations. At Nieuwegracht 49 in Utrecht, you’ll find our Daycare (KDV) and an After-School Care (BSO). Diagonally across the street, at number 30, there is another After-School Care (BSO) and a Preschool (PSZ).
The third location, offering Daycare (KDV), is located at Otterstraat 35 in Utrecht.
Nursery
Our nursery is located at Nieuwegracht 49 and accommodates 57 children per day, who are cared for in horizontal groups.
Preschool
The Stoerwoud preschool is located in our monumental building on Nieuwegracht 30. There is room for 16 children per morning aged two to four.
After school care
Our after-school care comprises 38 child places and is located at two locations. At Nieuwegracht 30 we have room for 32 children and at Nieuwegracht 49 we accommodate a maximum of 16 children. We pick up children at OBS Pieterskerkhof and the Agatha Snellen school.

Space in the broadest sense of the word is essential to feel good also for children. We therefore pay a lot of attention to physical space at the Stoerwoud. You can register your (unborn) child via the registration form on this website.
Yes, there is a waiting list. As soon as your child is registered, we will put them on our waiting list.
This is difficult to predict. We plan about 6 months ahead and the waiting time depends on availability, age of the child and flexibility in days.
Yes, siblings are given priority placement.
We offer half-days at our playgroup. At the nursery, you always take whole days.
